Tape & Zine
The Armijska Ratna Komanda D-0, or the formerly secret Atomic Bunker in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is one of the most notorious failed Cold War artefacts in former Eastern Europe, and it serves as the inspiration for the ARK D-0 project.
The ARK D-0 cassette and zine showcase AUW's interest in the derivé, which is employed in psycho-geography. This may be heard on the ARK D-0 cassette: on the A-side, an impressionist mix of songs, beats, and sounds. The tape's other side, the B-side, offers a more literal approach to the derivé, an aural representation of the AUW's trip from the Dutch city of Heerlen to the Bosnian city of Konjic, which is home to the Atomic Bunker ARK D-0.
Lars Ickenroth handdrawn zine accompies the sound experience of tape, collectively reflecting AUW’s experiences and impressions.
AUW (Altered Undefined Wavefoms) is a sound and art collective, consisting of producer Subp Yao, film director Sergej Kreso, artist Lars Ickenroth and Maurice Hermans.
